EducationGraduated with a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from the University of Virginia (#23 in the nation), with Distinction and a 3.64 GPA
Spent 1.5 years in the Neurobiology Graduate Curriculum at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, during which time I was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, one of the most competitive fellowships available to grad students
ExperienceSome of my specialties include: all things neurobiology, algebra, SAT math, GRE math, GRE and SAT vocabulary, molecular and cellular biology, essay writing and editing, and high school chemistry. In addition, I'm available to work with individuals who need help formatting and editing cover letters and resumes.
I have extensive experience with homeschooled students (I was homeschooled K-12 myself). In North Carolina, I founded and taught a science workshop specifically designed for homeschooled students, which became wildly popular and reached over 100 families.
I scored in the 98th percentile on the verbal section of the GRE and the 89th percentile on quantitative (only missed 1 question!).
I have over 6 years of experience tutoring. This includes tutoring high school students in math and the SAT, plus adult-level ESL. I have also taught larger group settings of science and have taken multiple enrichment courses in science communication.
HobbiesI'm passionate about health, fitness, and science communication. I also love baking, reading young adult fiction, and spending time with my two rescued corgi mixes. I'm basically a huge nerd--I named my dogs Merry and Pippin, after the hobbits in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
